For too long, cats in Ireland have been treated as “second-class pets” compared to dogs. We believe that has to change — and Cats.ie exists to make that happen. Our mission is simple: to create a single trusted hub where every cat in Ireland is valued, protected, and celebrated.
🐱 Dot says: “Every purr deserves a platform.”
Cats.ie was founded in Dublin in 2025 by a small team of cat enthusiasts who saw a big gap:
Ireland had plenty of general pet platforms, but none focused solely on cats, and even fewer that truly respected animal welfare standards.
We wanted to build something better — a platform that combines:
Locate vets, groomers, catteries, behaviourists, sitters, or photographers anywhere in Ireland through our verified Services Directory.
Use CatAlert, our Lost & Found section, to share details, upload photos, print posters, and get help from nearby cat lovers.
Locate vets, groomers, catteries, behaviourists, sitters, or photographers anywhere in Ireland through our verified Services Directory.
Take part in giveaways, share stories, and support local rescues — all while helping make Ireland more “purr-fect” for cats
Cats.ie fully supports and operates under:
Every listing — from breeders to rescues — must meet our welfare and transparency standards. That means no misleading ads, no underage kittens, no illegal sales, and zero tolerance for neglect or mistreatment. Our moderation team reviews listings and works closely with rescues and users to ensure Cats.ie remains a safe, fair, and compassionate space for everyone.
Dot isn’t just a logo — she’s the heart of Cats.ie.
The green cat head that replaces the dot in our name inspired her identity: curious, clever, gentle, and just a little mischievous.
Dot appears throughout the website in different poses — welcoming you, offering tips, and reminding everyone that Cats.ie is about community, kindness, and cats.
You’ll soon see Dot in short animations, on social media, and even on our future Cats.ie merchandise line!
