Safe cats. Happy homes. Trusted connections.
🐱 Dot says: “Finding or rehoming a cat should always feel safe, simple, and kind.”

  •  Breeder – for registered breeders posting cats or kittens
  • Rescue organisation – for charities and rescue groups

8
Community, Safety & Moderation

Cats.ie is a community — not a free-for-all marketplace.

To protect both users and animals, we require:

  • Verified email and phone number before posting
  • Optional two-factor authentication (2FA) for breeders and service providers
  • Listing review by moderators, particularly for first-time users

If a listing looks suspicious or does not comply with our welfare rules or platform standards, it may be paused for review.

⚠️ Users can report any suspicious or concerning listings directly.
Cats.ie takes every report seriously and reviews them as part of our ongoing moderation process.

9
Welfare Comes First

Cats.ie is built on a simple principle:
The wellbeing of cats always comes before profit or convenience.
Because of this:

  • CatALERT always includes a MEOW option that is free and will never be charged
  • Anyone can post a lost or found cat at any time
  • Essential visibility to help reunite cats with their families is never restricted by payment

Optional visibility boosts (JUMP and GLOW) exist only to help urgent cases gain faster exposure — never as a requirement.

Welfare is not an add-on feature.
It is the foundation of Cats.ie.

10
Manage Your Listings

From your dashboard, you can:

  • view active and expired listings
  • edit or update details
  • add optional boosts (JUMP or GLOW)
