1. Purpose and Acceptance

Welcome to Cats.ie, Ireland’s community platform for cat owners, adopters, breeders, rescues, and feline-friendly services.

By accessing or using Cats.ie you agree to these Terms of Use, together with our:

2. Our Service

Cats.ie is an online marketplace and information hub that:

  • hosts user-generated listings (sale, rehome, adoption);
  • connects users with service providers (vets, groomers, etc.);
  • offers community content, giveaways, and educational resources.

MEOWOOF LIMITED provides the platform only and is not a party to any sale, adoption, or arrangement made between users.

3. Accounts & Registration

To post listings or contact advertisers you must create an account and:

  1. Provide accurate information (name, email, mobile, county, town).
  2. Verify your email and phone number.
  3. Be at least 18 years old.

You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and all activity under your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Post or promote illegal, misleading, or offensive content.
  • Offer animals in violation of Irish animal-welfare law.
  • Infringe third-party intellectual property.
  • Use bots or scraping tools.
  • Attempt to disrupt the site or other users.

Cats.ie reserves the right to remove any content or suspend accounts that breach these rules.

5. Listings and Advertising

All advertisements, including cat listings and service profiles, are governed by the separate
Advertiser & Listing Terms.
During the Launch Phase (31 Oct – 31 Dec 2025) all Curious Cat standard listings are free,
while optional paid upgrades (Pawsome Pick, Top Cat, Pounce Boost) are available.
Prices are displayed in euro (€). MEOWOOF LIMITED is not VAT-registered, so VAT does not
apply.

6. Payments and Refunds

All payments are processed securely via WooCommerce, using Stripe and PayPal.
Cats.ie does not store card data.
Refunds and cancellations follow the Refund & Cancellation Policy.

7. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, all text, images, graphics, branding, and software on Cats.ie are the
property of MEOWOOF LIMITED or its licensors and are protected by copyright law.
Users retain rights to their uploaded content but grant Cats.ie a non-exclusive, royalty-free
licence to display and promote it within the platform and associated social channels.

8. Content Moderation

Cats.ie may review, edit, or remove content that:

  • Breaches Irish law or welfare standards;
  • Appears misleading, fraudulent, or harmful;
  • Receives substantiated user complaints.

We may suspend or delete accounts in repeated or serious cases.
Moderation decisions are final to maintain platform safety.

9. Disclaimers

  • Cats.ie does not verify every listing or user; buyers and adopters must perform
    due diligence.
  • We provide the platform “as is”, without warranties of any kind.
  • We cannot guarantee uninterrupted access or error-free operation.

Your interactions with other users are at your own discretion and risk.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MEOWOOF LIMITED shall not be liable for:

  • Loss of profits, goodwill, or data;
  • Indirect or consequential damages;
  • User-to-user disputes.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

11. Termination and Suspension

You may close your account at any time via your dashboard.
Cats.ie may suspend or terminate access without notice where:

  • You breach these Terms;
  • We are required by law or regulation;
  • Necessary for platform integrity or safety

12. Links to Other Sites

Cats.ie may contain links to external websites.
We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.

13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Irish law.
Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.

14. Amendments

Cats.ie may update these Terms to reflect legal or technical changes.
The revision date will always appear at the top of this page.
Material changes will be communicated on-site or by email.
