1. Overview

Cats.ie giveaways and competitions (the “Giveaways”) are organised by MEOWOOF LIMITED, the owner and operator of Cats.ie.

These Terms apply to all Giveaways run on Cats.ie, including those hosted via RafflePress and/or promoted through Cats.ie’s official channels, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp, and the Cats.ie community groups.

By entering a Giveaway, you agree to these Giveaway Terms & Conditions and to the following Cats.ie policies:

2. Eligibility

To enter a Giveaway, you must:

  • be a resident of the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland;
  • be 18 years of age or older at the time of entry.

The following are not eligible:

  • employees of MEOWOOF LIMITED;
  • their immediate family members;
  • contractors or partners directly involved in the Giveaway.

Each Giveaway may specify additional eligibility or entry conditions in its individual announcement.

No purchase is necessary to enter or win, unless explicitly stated

3. Entry Methods

Giveaways are managed using RafflePress, integrated into Cats.ie.

Each Giveaway page clearly outlines:

  • available entry actions (e.g. visiting Cats.ie, following social channels, sharing posts, subscribing to newsletters);
  • the number of entries awarded per action;
  • the opening and closing dates.

Incomplete, automated, misleading, or fraudulent entries are void.
All entries must be received before the stated closing date; late entries will not be accepted.

4. Social Media Disclaimer

Giveaways promoted on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, or WhatsApp are not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with these platforms.

By entering, you acknowledge that you are providing your information to Cats.ie, not to Meta, ByteDance, or any social media provider.

5. Prize Details

Each Giveaway will clearly state:

  • the prize(s),
  • the number of winners,
  • the closing date,
  • the winner selection method.

Prizes may include physical items (e.g. merchandise, vouchers) or digital rewards (e.g. listing credits).

Prizes:

  • are non-transferable;
  • cannot be exchanged for cash unless explicitly stated.

If a prize becomes unavailable, Cats.ie reserves the right to substitute it with an item of equal or greater value.

6. Winner Selection

Winners are selected randomly using the automated draw functionality within RafflePress Pro, ensuring fairness and transparency.

The draw will take place within 7 days of the Giveaway closing date.

Winners will be contacted using the email address or contact details provided at entry.

If a winner does not respond within 7 days, Cats.ie reserves the right to select an alternative winner.

Winner announcements may be published on Cats.ie or official social channels using first name and county only, for privacy.

7. Delivery of Prizes

  • Physical prizes are shipped free within Ireland and Northern Ireland.
  • Winners must provide a valid postal address within 7 days of notification.
  • Cats.ie is not responsible for delays or losses caused by postal or courier services.
  • Digital prizes (e.g. vouchers or credits) will be delivered electronically to the winner’s registered email address.

8. Data Protection & Privacy

For Giveaway administration, Cats.ie may collect:

  • name,
  • email address,
  • county,
  • entry actions (e.g. follows, shares).

Data is processed in accordance with:

  • the GDPR, and
  • the Cats.ie Privacy Policy.

Data is used solely for administering Giveaways and contacting winners and is deleted or anonymised within 12 months after prize delivery.

You may request access, correction, or deletion of your data at any time by contacting privacy@cats.ie.

By entering a Giveaway, you consent to this processing.

9. Disqualification

Cats.ie reserves the right to disqualify any entry that:

  • is incomplete or fraudulent;
  • violates advertising, consumer, or social media laws;
  • breaches the Community Guidelines;
  • uses fake identities, automation, or bots;
  • involves harassment, abuse, or manipulation.

All decisions regarding disqualification are final.

10. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MEOWOOF LIMITED is not liable for:

  • lost, delayed, or misdirected entries or communications;
  • technical issues, system failures, or internet disruptions;
  • damaged, delayed, or lost prizes in transit;
  • any injury, loss, or damage arising from participation or prize use, except where caused by negligence.

Giveaways are conducted in good faith and without commercial obligation beyond prize provision.

11. Taxes

All prizes are awarded tax-free to recipients in Ireland and Northern Ireland.

MEOWOOF LIMITED is not VAT-registered, and no VAT applies to prizes, credits, or rewards.

12. Fair Play & Conduct

Participants agree to:

  • enter Giveaways in good faith;
  • not manipulate entry systems;
  • respect other participants and Cats.ie staff;
  • refrain from posting misleading or offensive comments.

Cats.ie may block or ban users who repeatedly breach Giveaway integrity.

13. Termination or Modification

Cats.ie reserves the right to cancel, amend, or suspend a Giveaway where:

  • fraud, abuse, or technical failure compromises fairness;
  • circumstances beyond our control arise;
  • legal or regulatory requirements change.

If a Giveaway is cancelled, no compensation will be provided, but valid entries submitted prior to cancellation will remain recognised.

14. Governing Law

These Giveaway Terms & Conditions are governed by Irish law.
Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
